Early European Settlers
The stories of our earliest European settlers and the developments that came over the next 100 years that shaped our community have been captured in several books, including ‘True Tales of Mountains and Memories’ by Mac Stevenson and an earlier book ‘Maungatapere : a history and reminiscence’ by K M Stevens.
Both books can be found in Whangārei Library.
