Maungatapere Merry Mailbox Christmas Competition
Santa is getting ready, so it's time to plan for some Christmas spirit!
Decorate your letterbox, front yard, or some other Christmas Creation, enter the competition and win prizes! There'll be cash prizes rand local business vouchers to win!
If you don’t have a letterbox, or want to decorate something else there’s a category for that too.

The Best 'Other' Christmas Creation could be a bus shelter, silage bales, your garden, shop front, gate, house or something else! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
The competition is open to residents and businesses in the Maungatapere and Mangakahia areas including Kokopu, Whatitiri, Poroti and Titoki.
It's so easy to enter!
All you need to do is
1. Decorate your mailbox or Christmas creation
2. Take a photo (or two)
3. Upload your pics to the online entry form
(Entries will be judged from the photos, not in person)
Note: The main category winners are chosen by our official judges while the 'Community Choice' is chosen via Facebook likes.

The organiser of the competition is Maungatapere Village Inc.

The competition is open to residents in Maungatapere, Mangakahia, Kokopu, Whatitiri, Poroti and Titoki regions.

All entries are to be original. All submitters/entrants are to be the owner of the work(s).

To enter the competition, please take a picture of your decorated mailbox or other Christmas creation and submit it to us. Entries will be judged from the photos, not in person.

There will be a first prize and runner-up for Merriest Mailbox and Best ‘Other’ Christmas Creation as voted by our judging panel. There will be a first prize for the People’s Choice Award, as chosen by the highest number of likes on Maungatapere Village Inc. Facebook page at 5pm Wednesday 17 December 2025.

The competition will close at 5pm, Monday 15 December 2025.

Winners will be notified after 18 December 2025.

All entrants consent to their entries being shared across the Maungatapere Village Inc. social media pages and to be used in future marketing or promotional material. Entrants will not be entitled to royalty or other payment for reproduction.
- Maungatapere Village Inc. accepts no responsibility or liability for any theft, loss, or damage caused by or to, decorations or structures involved in this competition. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
