Description
Origins of the Hall: Built in 1920 as Whatitiri School, the school was closed in 1951, and the community subsequently negotiated with the authorities to retain the building and grounds for community use.
Capacity: 99 people inside
Rates of hire from 1 July 2022:
Kids birthday parties: $85
Meetings/general hire $90 up to 4 hours and $150 for a full day (to midnight). Weekend hire $275.
Regular weekly hire e.g. community yoga/pilates $5 per class + $2 per attendee/class
$300 cash bond applies to one-off events which will be returned upon final inspection.
Hire includes chairs, trestle tables, crockery (dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, platters), cutlery, serving spoons, some cooking utensils, fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher and Zip-heated hot water. Cleaning equipment supplied.
Physical amenities: Wheelchair access. 1 indoor toilet, 2 outdoor toilets. Main hall area has small platform stage area. Kitchen has servery into hall, but separate room.
